Carolina Sands, with more than 250 homes of all styles and colors, is one of the larger neighborhoods in the town of Carolina Beach. The community is located off South Lake Park Blvd.
The first homes in Carolina Sands were built in the 1980’s, with most of the lots being built out by the mid-2000’s. Home sizes range from a cottage measuring 1,200 square feet, to a three story home measuring 4,000 square feet.
Our favorite thing about Carolina Sands, is its distance to the ocean and the boardwalk with its shops and restaurants. The neighborhood is walking distance to all Carolina Beach has to offer. We also love all the bright colors. The homes here are shades you normally don’t see in neighborhoods on the mainland; purples, pinks, salmons, orange and lime greens dot the residential streets.
We also like the fact that a number of the homes, especially in the back half of the neighborhood, are out of the flood zone. There are not many places in the country where you can get this close to the beach and not have to worry about the flood zone.
Community amenities include a swimming pool, clubhouse, tennis court, play area and private beach access.
